I wasn't always an athlete, running found me when I needed it most, right before the birth of my 2nd daughter. 11 years ago, I hit the road and trails in search of work-life balance, not knowing it would ignite something deeper.  After my first half marathon, I was hooked. A year later, I conquered my first 50k trail race, and from there the distances only grew. 50 mile races turned into 100 mile ambitions and soon I found myself at the start line of the legendary HURT 100 on Oahu. Battling unforgiving terrain, exhaustion and self-doubt, I crossed the finish line after 33 hours. Running had become my proving ground.

For years, I thought that running was all I needed, but in 2022 after tragically losing my mother far too soon, I made a commitment to do everything in my power to extend the length and quality of my life.  That promise let me to strength training. I realized my thin runner's physique needed more muscle for the long haul. Longevity became my focus. As my training load grew with strength and run sessions, I knew my nutrition had to evolve too. I started hitting protein goals, and turned to evidence-based supplements to give me every edge. But what I needed wasn't out there--so I created FUNXION.
